Michael Kenny & Waverly Newton-Kenny met when they were both living in San Francisco. They have been together since 2017.
They love each other so much, they got married TWICE. After having to cancel their original large wedding in Waverly’s hometown of Arizona, they decided to get married in October of 2020 at the Fairmont in Sonoma in front of their immediate family. They had planned to reschedule their Arizona wedding for Fall of 2021, but Michael is from Ireland and with the travel restrictions still in effect, it wouldn’t be possible to get his 50+ family members to the United States for the celebration. So, instead, they took their wedding to Ireland! There they were married (again) on their one year anniversary. The second wedding took place in Michael’s hometown, in the same place that his parents had married 30 years before. “We were so lucky to have our entire bridal party travel overseas to stand with us as we renewed our vows and celebrated with our loved ones!” says Waverly.
Michael is a graduate from Chico State and Waverly is a graduate of The University of Arizona. They are both Wildcats and both hold B.S. of Marketing degrees.
Michael is an Account Executive at Docusign and Waverly is the co-owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes. Nothing Bundt Cakes is a family affair with Waverly co-owning the business with her Mom, Jan Newton. You can see Waverly, Jan, Michael and Mark (Dad) around Windsor in their “Bundt Mobile” or at many community events where they “BRING THE JOY” with bites of cake.
Waverly and Jan joke that Mark and Michael are the favorite volunteers who get “volunTOLD” what to do!
Waverly & Michael are huge 49er football fans, but love to cheer on all Bay Area sports teams.
On the weekends they love to take advantage of all that Sonoma Co. and Windsor has to offer. They are beer and wine lovers so they are in heaven. They frequent many of the downtown eateries, love to enjoy a glass of wine at many of the local wineries and love grabbing a pint and a bite to eat at Barley & Bine.
Through Nothing Bundt Cakes, they sponsor, donate and attend many local community events, all across Sonoma County. “ We believe in giving back to our local organizations and community and know that our cake can make a sweet impact. In the time that our Sonoma County bakery has been open, less than 2 years, we have donated to over 100 local organizations and counting.
We are active members in the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and three other Sonoma Co. Chambers.” Waverly says.
Michael & Waverly are the proud parents of their fur baby, Tayto, who is a 5 month old Bernedoodle.
“Tayto is named after the large Potato Chip brand in Ireland.
He is still figuring out this world but loves to walk up and down Foothill, and accompanying us to Barley & Bine, and Mutt Lynch Winery, where there are always other dogs to meet and people to pet him.”
This Windsor loving couple lives in the Foothill neighborhood and have lived in their house for under a year. “When we were starting our house hunt, we knew in our hearts we wanted to be in Windsor- we had spent a lot of time in the area and would visit often for weekend stay-cations or day trips. Everyone we talked with was so friendly and absolutely loved living or working in Windsor.
We bought at the height of the market and actually purchased our home without even stepping foot in it (we only saw photos)! Crazy, we know! BUT, what it came down to was that we loved Windsor and knew we would be happy just being a part of the community.” Waverly tell us.
“We ADORE our neighborhood and our neighbors! This past September, our neighbors threw us a “welcome party” at their home so we could meet everyone. It was the kindest gesture and we really cannot believe how lucky we are.
Windsor in general is just the BEST- even though we have only lived here a short amount of time, we truly feel like we have been here forever.
Even our extended family loves Windsor- Waverly’s parents bought a home in Sonoma Co. to be closer and Michael’s parents are in search of their dream forever home in Windsor. “ Waverly continues.
We are both immigrants to the United States!
Michael is originally from Ireland, and Waverly was adopted from Vietnam- we truly feel blessed to be living the American Dream.

Our entire family just goes for it! We open businesses, travel, move without seeing a house… life is short and we want to live it to its fullest with rich experiences and lasting memories.
We are a family that loves to travel! We are lucky to have Michael’s family in Ireland so a trip over there always means an authentic “Irish experience” and the ability to explore other countries in Europe while there.
Hawaii is also a special place to our family, and we travel there often- we just got back from a family trip there in October 2022 to celebrate Waverly’s parents’ anniversary.
We love meeting our neighbors and those in the Windsor community! If you see the “Bundt Mobile” or come into the bakery, please make sure to introduce yourself and say hello. Or reach Waverly by email at [email protected]
