Laurie is the middle sister of four other strong women. She always wanted to stand out, be strong and become her own person. In middle school Laurie started boxing, which became her first step into falling in love with fitness. During her first real heartache, she used fitness, boxing and focusing on a healthy lifestyle to find herself again.

Working Out Became Her Therapy

Laurie chose to go to the gym every day to clear her mind. She was there so often, in fact, that they offered her a job. Her first reaction was that it would be fun and she would be able to get to share her new found obsession with others. That “obsession” turned into wanting to become a professional in the trade and she began to obtain as much knowledge as possible.

  • I would observe trainers at the front desk high diving their clients, it was exciting to see their progress and how these trainers were changing lives.
  • I wanted to learn about the biomechanics of how the mind and body works with one another and what that can do to make people’s lives better. I wanted that. I wanted to provide that kind of support to everyone I could.
  • I went on to train for my first fitness competition. I learned how to have self control over what I ate, how I trained, and the sacrifice it takes to push my body and mind to the fullest.
  • I received 4th place in the competition which was incredible but what I learned most was that it was a harsh lifestyle to maintain. I wanted to challenge myself and get myself out of my comfort zone. Then to transfer that knowledge into how I can use this type of motivation to teach my clients. Of healthy everyday mindset to keep a healthy and long lasting sustainable lifestyle.
  • I wanted to learn to eat better for nourishment of the body, and not just for a physical goal. But to have a healthy relationship with food and to teach others the same.
  • My family has always been amazing cooks with incredible flavorful dishes. For example my grandma had foreign exchange students from Japan and they taught her how to make amazing egg rolls. It became a tradition in my family.
