The importance of regular exercise can never be understated. Whether getting fit, staying fit, or even recovering from an injury, exercise is crucial. But it can be intimidating to enter a lifestyle of fitness alone. Fortunately, that is where fitness clubs come into play. Rather than having to engage alone, members of fitness clubs can enter a place where they are surrounded by others who are on the same journey, and work with instructors who want to see their students succeed. For Fred Pena and Allison Villegas of Windsor, that has been the goal of the Windsor Fitness Club as it works to help Windsor residents reach their fitness goals.

Fred Pena was first introduced to the concept of Hot Pilates around 2017. Fred had worked in Law Enforcement for around 16 years, and had suffered an injury in the line of duty in 2007. Though this injury was successfully repaired, it was reinjured again in 2017 and Fred was unable to perform his duties after another surgery. Conventional rehabilitation had proven ineffective, so Fred asked his physical therapist for advice on how to get back to full strength. The therapist recommended Fred try Hot Pilates. Fred attended his first classes in Santa Rosa, and loved the program. It was at his classes in Santa Rosa that Fred met his future business partner, Allison Villegas. When the pandemic struck a few short years later, Fred and Allison chose to pursue their passion by opening their own studio. “Our passion for Hot Pilates is something we want to share with the community and expose people to a new type of fitness program,” Fred says.

After acquiring a location, Fred and Allison worked with Allison’s husband, Anthony, in order to get the studio set up and prepared for classes. In May of 2022, Windsor Fitness Club opened its doors to members, and has seen an amazing influx of support in just that short time. At the end of May and start of June, the studio was able to celebrate its first 100 members within 30 days of opening. Fred and Allison have been delighted to see their members improve their fitness within just a month of attending classes. “Being able to see clients go home happier than when they came in has been a delight. This is something fresh and new for the community, and it’s great to see people fall in love with Hot Pilates,” Fred says.

In addition to the support Windsor Fitness Club has received from the community, Fred and Allison are grateful to their families for supporting them in this new endeavor. As mentioned earlier, Allison’s husband, Anthony, was crucial as tech support while the studio was being prepared. Meanwhile, Fred has had the support of his family, including his wife, Janel, and his children, Vanessa, Analicia, Anaya, and of course Lil Freddie.

In the end, Windsor Fitness Club seeks to help Windsor residents become the best version of themselves possible. Offering Hot Pilates to the Town, Windsor Fitness Club is able to bring something new to residents who are seeking to improve their fitness levels, or even do as Fred did and recover from injury. For those seeking a place to go and be among friends and receive great instruction from Fred and Allison, Windsor Fitness Club is ready. To the community, Fred says: “Thank you so much for your support. For those who haven’t come by and tried the studio out yet, come and give it a shot. You won’t regret it! For those who are already working out with us: Welcome to the club!
