It is with great joy that we share the accomplishments and spirit of the Windsor Middle School volleyball team this season.
The team has had an outstanding season with a current winning streak of 9-1, showcasing the remarkable dedication and talent of the players. They have faced strong opponents like Rincon Valley, Slater, and Kenilworth, and have risen to the challenge with determination and skill.
The road to success has been a collaborative endeavor. While the team has encountered challenges, due to inexperience last year, this season has witnessed remarkable growth. The team has forged strong camaraderie and on-court chemistry. Several players, fueled by their newfound passion for the game, transitioned to playing club volleyball after the previous season. This commitment to practice has been instrumental in achieving their current successes.
A significant contributor to their success is Coach Melissa Shaw. Her ability to understand the diverse personalities of the players has fostered a sense of teamwork and support. Coach Shaw’s coaching style, a mix of toughness and honesty, has helped identify areas for improvement while still maintaining a high level of competitive energy. With Coach Shaw’s guidance, the girls approach every game with confidence and a winning mindset.
Beyond the court, this team has also excelled in fundraising, raising over $7,000 in collaboration with the 7th-grade team. These funds will go towards acquiring a much-needed new net system, enhancing the playing environment. The team expresses a heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors whose support has been invaluable.
As the team continues this successful season, they also look forward to facing new challenges and making Windsor Middle School and the Windsor community proud.

Ella Matson
“My Name is Ella Matson and I’m 13 years old. I play for the Windsor Middle School 8th grade volleyball team and I play DS (defense specialist). This is my second year playing volleyball and I really enjoy playing. I’ve made so many good friends on this team and I hope to make more in the future. My goal by the end of this season is to learn more about the sport and hopefully get better as a player.”
Linnaea Davis
My name’s Linnaea Davis and I am number 41 on the Windsor middle school volleyball team. This year is my second year of volleyball and I am so happy to be on the Windsor volleyball team for middle school. I chose number 41 because my mom played as number 41 in highschool here in windsor. I play as a setter on my team, and also play for the Empire volleyball club. I love to practice volleyball on my own time and enjoy playing volleyball with most of my team during school to
Taylor Ford
I’m Taylor Ford and I’m an 8th grader at WMS. Besides playing volleyball for WMS and Aftershock volleyball club I also play softball and will run track this year. When I’m not playing sports I love to hang with my friends and play with my dog Mac and my cat Pepper!
Madeline Bush
My name is Madeline and I play middle and right side and love the game of volleyball. I love to cook, watch movies, dogs, hang out with friends, and go to the mountains.
Haley Parrish
My name is Haley Parrish and I‘m 13 years old. I play outside hitter for WMS 8th grade volleyball. I am the oldest of three girls. I like to help my family cook, practice volleyball, talk with friends, and watch the 49ers.
Olive Eskelson
My name is Olive Eskelson. I have been playing school volleyball for three years, but also started Empire club volleyball this year. The positions I play are opposite hitter and middle blocker. In addition to volleyball I also play school basketball, as well as CYO league basketball. I am looking forward to continuing my basketball and volleyball career in high school.
